Welcome to Mike's Development.

This site is dedicated to my hobby of computer related development. I am a 36 year old male living in the central Utah area. I love creating, building and making a presence on the world wide web. Computer programming,web site design, and database design are just a few of the things that I like to learn about and see in action. I thought it would be a great idea to put up a web site to convey my many thoughts and ideas with the world. I hope to share on this site links, web references, tutorials, and just things on the internet. I am currently working on getting this site's content updated. Employment is key right now in my life. Introducing Mike's Development Network

The Mike's Development network is an idea to attract and collaborate with computer and web hobbyists around the world. As for myself, I enjoy learning about new technologies and programming techniques such as this system I am using to "house" my content. Joomla! is a "FREE" Open Source project based on PHP/MYSQL programming and database design. It is one of, if not the best content management system out there. On of the key features of Joomla! is that your are not stuck with just what it comes with. It has the base building blocks to help you. As a content provider to build upon those blocks to achieve just about anything that comes to your mind. Cause of this modular structure of the main CMS system, you can create your own modules and plug-ins and components without having to write a system from complete scratch.

As you can see throughout my site, I have keep some of the orginal links to the Joomla! community so that you can see how easy it is to have a professional looking for all your needs. The theme I am using comes from a group of Joomla! fanantics from RocketTheme. This particular template is called Hive-Mind, RocketTheme's Feb 2008 featured club template. These templates, as you can see, are umong the most easy and professional looking templates you will find on the internet. There club membership, in which I am a member of, is only about $80 for an entire year. This gives you the right to use 3 of there templates for comercial purposes and the rest of them for non-for profit sites such as gaming communitys, blogs, or anyting that you do not recieve a profit from.

We should have more fuctionality to this site in the comming weeks, as this site is going to be my forfront for showing my talents and ideas off to the world at large. Technical behind the scenes stuff are that this site is running with the following software:

Sorry not trying to confuse anyone, these are the technologies that I am using to host this site. With that said, I hope to bring you news, tutorials, updates and How To's, on most these software technologies. How I use these technologies to produce sites like this one. I do this so that maybe others out there can learn what I have learned and pass it along! More to come soon.
